The first testimonies concerning the use of the nautical needle by Mediterranean navigators date from the 12th century, however, it is presumed that it must have been in use for a long time before that.
This compass supports a compass rose and is provided with an external ring divided into 32 parts, which correspond to the names of the winds that coincide with each one of the courses (each one equivalent to 11.25º).

Beech /oak wood (natural wax and polished), crystal glass over magnetic compass.

Hemisferium products are handmade ornaments with limited functionality, made primarily for decoration purposes. As they are handcrafted there may be small imperfections.
